Cold Patience

"Cold Patience" is a drawing I completed today. It was started started two days ago, and in total, I have spent about 10-11 hours on it. Usually I spend about 5 hours maximum on a drawing. It was done to help me keep my mind off my grandmother's cancer as well as give me a reason to practice backgrounds and big cats.

Snow leopards have always held a special significance to me as well, and not the normal, "I liek to draw dem because they puuurrrddyyyy" crap I see. No, I am serious, I have loved Snow Leopards before they were cool. When I was little all I wanted to see were the Snow Leopards and Red Wolves at the zoo. I couldn't give a crap about the other animals. All I used to say was that I wanted to go see the puppies and kitties at the zoo. Took my mom forever to figure out what I wanted haha. The Red Wolves I have only seen a few times, but the Snow Leopards would come right up to the chain link fence every time I was there, and we would just look at each other. Maybe because I was one of the few people that didn't "roar" at them, or scream or cry or yell. Or maybe it was because I had a hat with a huge bright yellow pom pom on it, I don't know haha. But they are gorgeous creatures.
